Job Vacancy: Production Engineer

IFPL Group – comprised of IFPL and Cobalt Aerospace – is an award-winning engineering company, designing and manufacturing products for the commercial aerospace sector. The business is growing rapidly and we are looking to recruit an additional Production Engineer to complement the existing team.

We are a full end-to-end business designing, selling, and manufacturing our own products for sale to airlines and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) around the world. We are recognised as industry leaders for our passenger power and audio products, as well as for our drop-in LED mood lighting system.

You will need to be based on the Isle of Wight or be prepared to re-locate, as the role will be at our Calbourne location and require you to be on-site.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Investigate and diagnose electronic products and components that fail to meet defined acceptance criteria.
  • Support Operations with maintenance, fault finding and improvement of bespoke production test equipment.
  • Design, manufacture, and continuously improve manufacturing aids such as assembly jigs, bespoke and automatic test equipment, detailing and recording all schematics, drawings, and 3D models.
  • Produce, amend, and continuously improve manufacturing documentation such as standard operating procedures, assembly instructions and acceptance test procedures.
  • Assist with the definition, evaluation, and improvement of new and existing manufacturing processes, including application of lean methods such as value stream maps, poka-yoke and SMED.
  • Collaborate with the Operations, Engineering and Quality departments to identify the root cause of issues, and to implement corrective and preventative actions.
  • Proactively support the production organisation to overcome issues as they arise.

REMUNERATION

  • £32 – £40k Dependent on experience.
